SAE Career Connect at Kochi

SAE College conducted a workshop on Digital Filmmaking and Recording Arts on 26th of September 2009 at YMCA hall Kochi. The workshop was an eye-opener for the students looking at alternative career opportunities in the field of media and entertainment.

Mr.Deepan, a well known Malayalam film director whose latest film ‘Pudhiya Mugham’ is one of the biggest hits, along with Mr.Shyamjith, Editor of the same movie, enlightened the participants and guided them to visualize an exciting world of Digital Film Making. SAE faculty Mr.S.Prem Kumar who is a well qualified Audio engineer by himself threw lights on the Audio engineering field and what does it take to become an Audio Engineer.

Career Guidance Workshop at Chennai

Stella Maris College is organizing “Beyond Horizons” a Career Fair on Friday Sep 4th 2009 at their college premises. The fair primarily aims at exposing the students to various career options that are spread across for them after their graduation.

Time: 10: 00 a.m. to 1: 30 pm.

Alpha college is also organizing a career fair on 3rd and 4th of September at their college premises. This fair aims at showcasing the alternative career options that the students can take up after their graduation.

Album Launch - Namma Chennai

Music is the universal language of mankind, none can deny it. Musical genre might differ, but the ultimate pleasure that any soul gets out of listening to music is immense!!

Chennai people have always had the love and fascination towards music, which is evident through the number of bands and albums that keep popping on to the field.

And the one which is yet to be launched on 21 August at Sathyam cinemas is “Namma Chennai”. The root cause for this album is an edutainment company called Macrocosm, which was started by Muthu Kumar, who is an SAE alumnus. This company puts its effort to venture into media, for what this album could be the first step towards reaching the destination. This album basically consists of 6 songs, out of which one of the songs is composed by Mrinalini, who is again a SAE alumnus. Muthu Kumar has also composed a song for the album. Definitely this album will rock the city as it restrains all the factors to allure Chennai.

SAE wishes the band all the very best for the launch and for any of their future ventures too!!

Graphical extravaganza by SAE at The British Council, Chennai

Students of SAE College presented a visual treat on 25th July with their alluring performances at The British Council in Chennai. The session commenced with a speech delivered by Mr.Ashok Rajagoplan-An Illustrator & writer, who spoke on comic books and history on illustration, followed by a speech by Mr.Venkatasubramanian CC – Head - Animation, SAE on how the comic version is transferred to animation in 2D and 3D. 

Students of SAE performed a skit, which portrayed a scene from the Aladdin tale, completely ideated and executed by students themselves. Next was an illusion dance, which was a complete delight to watch with an innovative and creative concept, weaved along with the choreography. 

The graphic presentation was another element, which fascinated and carried the audience into a fantasy world. Overall the event was a big hit among the audience present, which was obvious through the overwhelming response.

SAE Internship Tie-ups

Vismayas Max studio

We take the honor to announce SAE College’s tie up with Vismayas Max Studio, which is Kerala’s first DTS studio. Vismayas Max Post-production Studio has been set up in Trivandrum, Kerala nearly three years ago. Padmashree Mohanlal, who is presently heading the organization, has put his mind in setting up a separate post-production building consisting of editing suits for both films and TV; an audio studio for song recordings, film dubbing, recording background music, sound effects and mixing both for regular films and animated films. The Vismayas Max post-production is now entirely commissioned and is on stream. 

Key features of DTS room includes Pro-Tools HD3 with control 24 mixer, monitoring through RTW and DTS, XD 10P and JBL speakers with QSC amplifiers, G5 Mac Pro and G5 PCIe computers. 

They have two dub suites and one with sound effects recording suite. Other major facilities include two editing rooms one with FCP editing machine and one with avid express. Another key feature of dubbing room includes Nuendo work station with Behringer speakers, mixer and speakers and also Rhode K2 microphones with large video projection systems and DLP projector.

These facilities make Vismayas Max post-production studio unique in south Indian film industry. So SAE is proud in placing our students in such a reputed firm for internships, where our students shall get a profound knowledge on their sole aspiration. 

Director Deepan

Deepan, a successful director from God’s own country-Kerala, whose debut movie was, “The Leader” with the look-alikes of the top political leaders in the state has initiated another movie titled Puthiya Mugham. This movie features Prithvi Raj as the lead.

Like other recent hit films of Prithviraj, this movie will also feature him in a campus backdrop. This time, a self financing engineering college will be the backdrop for Prithviraj, who has a strong fan base amongst college girls.

Well… SAE is proud to have a tie up with such a promising director that the industry encompasses.
